Registers of Electors for the 24 Constituencies (15 Group Representation Constituencies and 9 Single Member Constituencies) will be exhibited for public inspection from 28 Sep 2001 to 11 Oct 2001.

Registration for overseas voting can also be made from 28 Sep 2001 to 18 Oct 2001 at any Inspection Centre and Overseas Registration Centre. The addresses of the Inspection Centres and Overseas Registration Centres are shown in the attached list and the time for inspection and application for overseas voting are as follows:

a) Monday to Friday : 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm

b) Saturday : 3.00 pm to 7.00 pm

For the Overseas Registration Centres, the hours of application for overseas voting will be the business hours of the respective Overseas Missions where the Centres are established.

The purposes of the exhibition are to allow electors:

Period of exhibition from 28 Sep 2001 to 11 Oct 2001

a. to check and ensure that their names are in the correct addresses and constituencies;

b. to submit claims for the inclusion of their names to the Registers of Electors if their names are excluded therefrom;

c. to submit objections against names of persons appearing in the Registers of Electors; and

Period of Registration for Overseas Voting from 28 Sep 2001 to 18 Oct 2001

d. to register for overseas voting if they wish to vote at any of the 5 Overseas Polling Stations in the next General Election.

Names of all Singapore Citizens who are 21 years of age and above on 31 Aug 2001 and who are ordinarily residents in Singapore will be included in the Registers of Electors. However, they are advised to check their names against the Registers of Electors during the Inspection period at any of the Inspection Centres. They should bring along their identity cards when they visit the Centres.
