About
300,000 Singaporeans Turning To Online Banking
|
“When
the focus was shifted to the actual number of visitors,
Korea topped the chart with its massive Internet population
base. Accordingly,
5.6 million people visited online banking sites compared to
293,500 Singaporeans in July 2001.”
Said Dr. Jack Loo, Country Manager of NetValue
(Singapore).
|
Interestingly,
the Italians registered the highest time spent at the online
banking sites with an average of about 42.3 minutes per
Internet user in July 2001. The Koreans and Taiwanese, on the other hand, spent the least
time at the sector with an average of about 16 minutes per
Internet user.
|
“Singaporeans
spent an average of 26.6 minutes at online banking sites, a
decline from the 31.0 minutes registered in January 2001.”
Said Dr. Loo. “Perhaps
people are getting used to the sites and could quickly
locate their source.”
