The Novel - Young Writers’ Perspective & Challenge
3pm-4.30pm,
Glass Hall
[In
Malay]
Why
is there a surge of interest in the novel genre amongst
young Malay writers? The grappling with identity crisis,
alienation by technology, the fervour of ideology - all
these and more can only be adequately expressed through
the depth and expanse of the novel. Has the novel become
the new voice of the Malay community in Singapore? Dr
Othman Puteh, Peter Augustine Goh and Anuar Othman will
discuss the above. Prominent local Malay writer Isa Kamari
chairs.
