vPost.com.sg gives you a free lifetime e-mail account courtesy
of Singapore Post, our very own post office in Singapore.
With this account, you can not only send & receive e-mails but
also receive your bills, letters, statements and reminders
electronically so there's no need to worry about lost mail. What's
more - you can pay your bills online when you receive them
electronically so you won't need to go to the post office for
those transactions anymore. If you are
worried that your messages may get lost, fret not. You will
continue to receive your statements and reminders by post. The
electronic version is an added benefit. vPost also lets you apply
for GIRO-On-Demand for automatic payment of your bills. However,
this is different from GIRO service in that it lets you decide how
much to pay and when to pay. And you only need to sign a one-time
GIRO-On-Demand application form to enjoy the service. To
register, all you need is to key in your NRIC (I guess they are
targeting Singaporeans) number and personal particulars online.
But, it's not one of those instant accounts you have got used to
getting on the Internet. You will have to wait a week for their
approval. I guess they just want to make sure you are who you say
you are. You can't use the account to view your family member's
bills, but you can use it to pay their bills if you know their
bill account numbers and you have already signed up for the GIRO-On-Demand. vPost is Just
