All they need do is to search the National Library of China's website at www.nlc.gov.cn to get the bibliographic citations of the titles that they are interested in and provide the NLB with the most complete and accurate information possible when submitting their requests. Requests received will be processed on the same day or by the next working day. The amount of time taken to receive the requested item varies from two days to three weeks, or more, depending on the source and availability of the item. If they are unable to source the item, they will inform the library member by e-mail or mail. All requesters are required to sign a copyright declaration form for using the Document Supply Services to ensure that material requested/obtained is strictly for self-study and research purposes. Prepayment is required for any request made. Payment can be made by CashCard or cheque. Payment by cheque is made payable to the National Library Board. Articles/items requested will be delivered by mail, e-mail, fax or to be collected in person. Besides the National Library of China, the National Library Board has also signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the British Library as well as Shanghai Library. The British Library's Inside Web Service is a massive database which expands by over two million articles every year. The range of information held in Inside is comprehensive. Science, technology, medicine, engineering, business, law, finance and the humanities are covered extensively. The Inside database comprises: - Title details from over 250,000 journals held at the British Library - 20,000 current journals that can be searched down to article titles level - 16,000 conference proceedings that can also be searched to paper title level. Users can search for citations of Chinese journal articles at www.cnki.net. This database indexes articles from 6,600 journals published in China. The database comprises comprehensive subjects in the areas of humanities, social science, science and technology. The contents include 10 million bibliographies and 4 million abstracts which are updated daily. Two million bibliographies and 1 million abstracts are added to the database every year.
