A 42-year-old male taxi driver will be
charged in court tomorrow for stealing the belongings of a passenger
that were left behind in his taxi. |
In the early morning of 21 June 2007, the
passenger lodged a Police report at Tanglin Police Division stating that
he had left behind a briefcase, a bag and a bottle of wine that were
placed in the front passenger seat area of an unknown taxi that he had
boarded at Changi Airport Terminal 2. |
With this limited information, officers from
Airport Police Division (APD) were able to trace the identity of the
taxi driver, leading to his arrest in the evening of 21 June 2007. |
A bag, a laptop, a pouch containing laptop
accessories, a bottle of wine, foreign currencies and a shoe bag
containing 3 pairs of shoes were recovered from the accused¨s residence. |
The said taxi driver will be charged in
Court on 26 Jun 2007 at 9am for Theft under Section 379 of the Penal
Code, Chapter 224. |
Commander APD, Superintendent Teo Chun Ching
commended his officers for their resourcefulness, determination and
swift action leading to the arrest of the accused and recovery of the
stolen items. |
