Singapore¡¯s biggest art
exhibition to showcase more than 1,200 works |

Over 1,200 art and design works in various
media will be exhibited at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA)
School of Visual Arts Graduation Show 2006, making it the single largest
art exhibition in Singapore. |
|
Titled ¡°IGNITE¡± to signify NAFA¡¯s creative
energy, the 10-day event brings together graduation projects by more
than 330 final-year students from five diploma programmes ¨C Fine Art,
Interior Design, Multimedia, Visual Communication and Art (Teaching). |

Graduates to look out for |
|
Many of this year¡¯s graduates have received
critical acclaim and top awards in national and international
competitions, including the Crowbar Awards 2005, the VivoCity Student
Design Competition 2005, the inaugural Goh Chok Tong Youth Promise Award
2005, the 2nd CDL Singapore Sculpture Award, the UOB Painting of the
Year Award 2005 and the Philip Morris Singapore Art Award 2005, etc. |

Some chose to switch careers to pursue their
passion for art. Deryk Cameron Stronach, a former police officer at
Sussex Police Force in Britain, will be graduating with a Diploma in
Fine Art. Phuah Li-Fang, an Arts & Social Science double major in
Mathematics and Information & Communications Management graduate from
the National University of Singapore, will be pursuing her career in
Publication Design upon her graduation with a Diploma in Visual
Communication. (Please see

Opening Ceremony |
|
The opening ceremony of Ignite will be held
on 21 April 2006 (Friday), 6pm, at NAFA Gallery 3. Five ¡°Best Display
Award¡± trophies will be given out to graduates who have presented their
works creatively. Professor Cheong Hee Kiat, President of SIM University
will be the Guest-of-Honour for the evening. |
