Body Parts At Orchard Suspect Arrested Within 12 Hrs
Police arrested a Filipina domestic worker in connection to the murder of a woman early this morning.
Following yesterday's discovery of the dismembered body parts in bags left at Orchard Green (opposite the Marriot Hotel, Orchard Rd) and on the grass verge along the footpath from MacRitchie Reservoir to Lornie Rd, Police immediately commenced an extensive investigation into the murder.
Police are working on the possibility that all the body parts found yesterday are from the same person. Analysis and tests are presently being conducted by the Health Sciences Authority. Based on investigations, we believe that the victim is a 26-year-old Filipina domestic worker.
Extensive groundwork and enquiries have established that the suspect is a fellow Filipina maid, believed to be known to the victim. Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department arrested the 29-year-old suspect at about 12.40am today. Some red plastic bags and a chopper were also seized from her employer's flat in Serangoon.
