A blue sports bag containing body parts was
found on the ground, close to Orchard MRT station this afternoon. |
At about 1.45pm , Police responded to a call
from a cleaner of an unattended bag found close to Orchard MRT station. |
Preliminary investigations established that
the cleaner while on her rounds discovered the blue bag, which contained
a woman's head and limbs. The head was found in a red plastic bag and
the four limbs were found in two separate black trash bags. |
Police immediately cordoned off the
surrounding area and are conducting a search for further remains and
evidence. We are presently working towards establishing the identity of
the victim. |

Update on Body Parts Found Close To

Police recovered a torso of a female human
body from a black canvas bag found on a footpath near MacRitchie
Reservoir this evening. |
Investigations are proceeding to determine
if the torso is linked to the body parts found near Orchard MRT station
this afternoon. |
At about 6.10pm , Police responded to a call
of an unattended bag found in the vicinity of MacRitchie Reservoir. |
Upon examination, a torso of a female
clad in her undergarment was found in a black canvas bag with
wheels. The body part will be sent to the Health Sciences Authority
(HSA) for further analysis and tests. |
Police are working on the possibility
that all the body parts found today are from the same person. An
update will be provided after HSA has conducted the tests. |

Body Parts At Orchard Suspect Arrested
Within 12 Hrs |
Police arrested a Filipina domestic worker
in connection to the murder of a woman early this morning. |
Following yesterday's discovery of the
dismembered body parts in bags left at Orchard Green (opposite the
Marriot Hotel, Orchard Rd) and on the grass verge along the footpath
from MacRitchie Reservoir to Lornie Rd, Police immediately commenced an
extensive investigation into the murder. |
Police are working on the possibility that
all the body parts found yesterday are from the same person. Analysis
and tests are presently being conducted by the Health Sciences
Authority. Based on investigations, we believe that the victim is a
26-year-old Filipina domestic worker. |
Extensive groundwork and enquiries have
established that the suspect is a fellow Filipina maid, believed to be
known to the victim. Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department
arrested the 29-year-old suspect at about 12.40am today. Some red
plastic bags and a chopper were also seized from her employer's flat in
Serangoon. |
The suspect will be charged in court
tomorrow for murder. |

Maid charged over killing of 'close
friend' |
29-year-old Filipina Guen Garlejo Aguilar, a
maid, was charged in court yesterday with murdering Filipino maid Jane
Parangan La Puebla, 26, who was allegedly killed in the home of
Aguilar's employer in an eight-floor unit of Block 9, SunGlade
Condominium in Serangoon Ave 2. |
