The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) launched
the 2005 Sterling Silver Proof Coin Set on 4 Apr 2005. This set features the
conservation of Natural Landscape as its theme. Minted in 925 silver proof
condition, the set consists of 5¢, 10¢, 20¢, 50¢, $1 coins and a 12-sided
scallop-edged $5 coin. |

The set includes a cupro-nickel ingot that
features the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, a 130-hectare haven to 800 species
of flora and fauna, Peirce Reservoir, Singapore's protected water catchment
reserve and Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, one of the largest tracts of primary
rainforest left in Singapore. |

Limited Worldwide Mintage |

The 2005 Sterling Silver Proof Coin Set will be
limited to a mintage of only 10,000 worldwide. The coin set will be issued on
Saturday, 16 April 2005. |
|
Each set comes in an elegant wooden case and
includes a Certificate of Authenticity issued by MAS. The 2005 Sterling Silver
Proof Coin Set will be sold at $128.00 each (GST inclusive). |
