Eligibility |
|
The
Open Category is open to screenwriters resident in
Singapore and/or of Singaporean citizenship (though
studying or residing overseas) and who have not previously
sold a script for more than S$1,000. The Student Category
is open to any Upper Secondary student (for the Upper
Secondary Category) OR any Junior College student (for the
Junior College Category) studying in Singapore. |

Originality |
|
- Submitted
work must be the original work of the author |
|
- Adaptations
from other works will be accepted as long as the original
author's written permission to adapt the work has been
obtained and can be presented to the organisers, in
writing, upon request. Finalists will be asked to submit
this written permission before the final round of judging. |
|
- If the work
is based on another person's life story, a statement
attesting to rights obtained for the incorporation of such
story into your work will need to be submitted if you are
a finalist before the final round of judging. |
|
- The
organisers and judges shall not investigate and cannot
attest to the authenticity of an applicant's statement of
authorship or rights. |
|
- Manuscripts
must not have been optioned or sold, and must be the
property of the author(s). Each work must not have been
sold, optioned or be in turnaround, or be in preproduction
or have been produced at the time of the submitted
deadline nor at the time the material is chosen as a
finalist or prize winner. If said script has been optioned
or sold during the judging period, the writer will
automatically be disqualified. |

Collaborations are accepted. However, division of any
award monies will be the sole responsibility of the
winners. |

Closing
Date |
|
All
entries must reach the organisers by 1 Nov 2001. All
entrants will be notified of the results by post. The list
of winners will also be posted on 31 Jan 2002 on the
following website, http://fmsweb.np.edu.sg/home/workingtitle/index.htm. |

Submission
Format |
|
Submitted screenplays must be in standard format typeset,
such as the Courier, Arial or Times New Roman, size 12,
single spacing, and clipped or stapled with fastenings on
the left margin of the work. Although the name, address,
telephone number (and email address) and title of the
screenplay must be filled in on the application form, such
particulars are not to appear on the submitted screenplay
itself. All pages of the screenplay should be numbered. |

Each
work must be submitted together with the completed
application and release forms. In particular, a log-line
(summary) in 250 words maximum, describing your screenplay
must be submitted. Incomplete submissions will be
rejected. |
|
Each
submitted work must also be accompanied by another 3
copies of the same. Therefore, a total of 4 copies of the
work must be submitted. |
|
Multiple
entries are accepted. However, a separate entry form must
be included for each work submitted. |
|
Manuscript must be written in English. Dialogue can be in
a language other than English but must be translated into
English. |
|
Submissions will be accepted only by mail or delivery by
hand. Submitted manuscripts will not be returned. |
|
Work,

envelope marked as one of the following: |
