Last weekend, Suntec City and Millenia Walk were busting with activities as shoppers thronged the two shopping centres and elbowed their way through the new Courts branch on the third storey of Suntec City as well as the new Harvey Norman branch on the second level of Millenia Walk.

Both stores brought out attractive discounts to entice browsers to become buyers. VCD players, usually selling at S$199, went for S$99 and Cornell microwave ovens were sold at S$89 at Harvey Norman and at S$85 at Courts. The competition was that intense.

It was holiday season for secondary school students while the primary school pupils had just collected their report books. The organisers of the launch ceremonies for the two stores had fun programmes lined up just outside the stores to keep these school boys and girls busy while their parents poured into the two stores to make their purchases.
