Traffic Advisory For Singapore Fireworks Celebrations 2007
The Singapore Fireworks Celebrations has lined up two fireworks displays, on 17 and 18 Aug, at the Marina Bay area to tie in with this year's National Day celebrations.
Large crowds and heavy vehicular traffic are expected in the Esplanade area for the displays.
Police as well as event security officers will be deployed to ensure that public safety as well as law and order are not compromised. Members of public are advised to cooperate with and follow the instructions of the Police and event security officers.
Members of public who are going to the area are advised to take public transport such as the mass rapid transit trains or buses and to look after their belongings especially when they are in crowded places.
Motorists travelling along the East Coast Parkway , Esplanade Drive and Raffles Avenue are advised not to slow down or park illegally to view the fireworks display.
Enforcement action will be taken against those who park indiscriminately or cause obstruction to other road users and their vehicles will also be towed away.
Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to comply with traffic rules and regulations, for the safety of all road users.
Police would not hesitate to take action against persons who commit crime or cause nuisance to the general public. We seek the public's understanding and cooperation so that all can enjoy the celebration.
