The Arts House at the Old
Parliament |
|
|
FireBall is a contemporary arts event
celebrating the kinesthetic art of dance, featuring a host of local and
international artists of various disciplines - choreographers, dancers,
sculptor/painter, fashion designers and film-maker, set in Singapore's
historical landmark, The Arts House at the Old Parliament. |
|
The dance artists will premiere original new
works at the resplendent rooms at The Arts House (except the Gallery). |
|
The choreographies are woven to suit the
individual rooms* unique configurations and aura, and crafted to enhance
the audience*s viewing experience, given their close proximity to the
performers. |
|
As the audience moves from space to space to
enjoy dance, music and exhibitions, they will simultaneously be touring
a historical landmark at a leisurely pace. |

ECNAD is proud to present Together Higher, a
dance documentary directed by Paul Zetter from the United Kingdom,
featuring Vietnam*s first deaf contemporary dance troupe. The film is
part ECNAD*s FireBall programme at The Arts House. |

Description: The film produced by Ensemble
Films, follows Vietnamese dance troupe Together Higher as they perform
at schools and universities in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh
City and Da Lat. It shows how the dancers raise awareness amongst
audiences of Vietnamese sign language, the deaf community in Vietnam and
above all the use of non-verbal forms of communication such as touch and
body language as they communicate with each other and the audience. |
