STATION PERSONALITIES

The best of the best of Singapore*s radio veterans

Old friends, new friends, old rivals, new allies and the odd new voice come together in the new Radio 91.3: a gathering of the best of the best of Singapore*s radio veterans. It*s a lineup that*s bound to shake up Singapore radio and inject a shot of healthy competition into an industry that some say has been languishing for lack of it. Let us introduce you 每 or in most cases reacquaint you 每 with the people who*ll soon be whispering sweet nothings into your ears, supplying you with food for thought, and generally keeping you company from morning till night.

As you can see, you*ll be in very good company#

Sultry Suzanne

Suzanne Walker is one name that needs no introduction. A veteran of the radio industry since 1993, her rising star shot sky high with the unprecedented success of Love Songs on Class 95FM. Something you may not know about Suzanne is her fetish for felines. The proud owner of five furry friends, her kitty collection commenced with a gift from Jessica Soo# and kept growing, to the point where she had to move in to a new loft apartment in Holland Village which she*s just finished renovating. Another little-known fact about Suzanne is that she*s a mum.

Hard to picture this raunchy bad girl of rock &n* roll as a mother figure, but that she is to her 10-year-old son Gabin, who resides in France with his father and explains her frequent trips there. She*s also an exercise junkie who religiously practises yoga, swims, skips and occasionally surfs. Besides cats, she collects Buddhas and guitars, and aspires to be a &spiritual rock star*. Her yin and her yang may tug her in different directions, but she*s one grounded lady with a helluva sexy voice and a great sense of humour.

Voracious Marilyn

As spunky as that other famous Marilyn, and as skinny as the latter was voluptuous, Marilyn Lee is a lady of voracious appetites 每 for music, the arts, travel, life*s rich tapestry of experiences#And food. Beefier belles pale by comparison when this lean mean eating machine hits the buffet table. A graduate of the Radio Academy, this fresh young talent debuted with a late-night slot on Class 95FM. She claims to have enjoyed the luxury of chatting and whiling away the witching hours with her loyal legion of nocturnal fans against the velvet cloak of night and the velvety strains of chillout tunes. She counts among her favourite artistes the Maachi boys of Taiwanese rap fame, and Norah Jones.

Precocious Petrina

Radio presenter, emcee, TV host, stage actress, singer and voice actor, Petrina Kow has done them all 每 and at one point in time, all at once. She*s also a loving mother to her &little queen* Victoria, and the wife of the boss of animation studio Peach Blossom Media, with whom she shamelessly slept with to secure her recent gig as Singapore*s only animation voice director. She numbers among her greatest achievements being one of the first two Chinese women ever to break into the Bollywood movie industry. As a member of the infamous Dashboard Divas, her dulcet tones have been heard at the Esplanade and at numerous charity concerts and corporate events. She claims she*s a great cook (well, she*s never killed anyone# yet), and a scrapbooking fiend. Listeners remember her fondly as one of the most popular hosts of the Morning Express on Class 95FM.

She was the honey-tongued counterpart to The Flying Dutchman 每 with a stinging wit that was more than a match for her older male contemporaries. And still is.

Anything-but-average Joe

A veteran of more than 16 years in Singapore radio, Joe Augustin has ruled the airwaves as a solo presenter and co-host with the likes of Melissa Hyak, Jessica Soo, Hamish Brown and the Flying Dutchman, on Class 95FM and Power 98.

He*s also an experienced stage and screen performer, having made guest and cameo appearances on iconic sitcoms like &Under One Roof* and &3 Rooms*. His one-man show &Just Joe: What He Can*t Say On Radio* was a sellout at Raffles Hotel*s prestigious Jubilee Hall. A sought-after emcee and voice-over, his voice features on hundreds of TV commercial soundtracks and corporate videos. Equal parts serious and funny, he*s one of the most versatile voices in the industry.

He*s also a devoted family man, a student of business and marketing, an authority on local and international broadcasting# and anything but your average Joe.

No Plain Jane

The lovely Jane Boey has a face that*s wasted on radio. Which may very well be one of the reasons why her career has spanned the gamut of dancing, modeling, presenting, emceeing and acting. She*s graced Singapore*s TV screens in &Under One Roof*, &Triple Nine, &Phua Chu Kang* and many others. Since 2000, Jane has been a presenter with WKRZ 91.3 FM, as well as a sought-after events host. No airhead on air, Jane combines beauty with brains and brings an intelligent depth to every topic she covers. She has a Bachelor*s degree in Economics and a Master*s degree in Marketing.
