The American Association of Singapore
proudly announces that JazzNite 2005 will take place at Fort Canning
Green from 6:00 - 11:00 PM on Saturday, September 24. |

This year will feature an outstanding
line-up of local and international jazz talents in a variety of styles
to suit everyone's tastes. |
|
New this year to the festival will be top
Singaporean Jazz vocalist Rani Singham, big band swing played by the
exceptional SAS and UWC jazz bands, and world-renowned gypsy jazz
masters The John Jorgenson Quintet, flown in from the United States for
this one-night performance. |
|
Back by popular demand are Dixieland band
The Stompers, classic jazz band ChromoZone of Harry's Bar and Latin jazz
band The Groove. |
|
JazzNite, now in its eleventh year, is
Singapore's largest outdoor annual jazz event. The outdoor concert
offers locals, expats and visitors alike an opportunity to survey the
city's fine musical offerings and unparalleled cuisine in a relaxed
picnic setting. Over 1500 people are expected to attend this year's
festivities. |

"We look at JazzNite as a welcome back to
Singapore after summer's end. It's an evening to greet old friends, make
new acquaintances, and sample some of the city's best jazz under the
stars," explained David Barker, President of The American Association of
Singapore. |

Along with the outstanding entertainment,
tickets include a free dinner entr¨¦e provided by acclaimed dining
institution Michelangelo's, free drink and free gift. There will also be
multiple chances for audience members to be enriched by the evening's
many lucky draws. |

contribution to Hurricane Katrina assistance efforts may do so at
JazzNite. AAS volunteers will be available to collect cash and cheque
donations to the Red Cross. New Orleans and the Gulf Coast region is the
historic birthplace of jazz. |
