NDP 04 will be a spectacular
3-hour show for the 60,000-strong audience gathered
at the National Stadium and the hundreds of thousands of home viewers in
Singapore and overseas.

The order and highlights of the
parade are:
|
|
Pre-Parade Segment:
|
|
Featuring the melodious and
robust voices of an 800-member Combined School Choir, the pre-parade segment
will encourage audience to warm up through interactive games, movement,
cheers, and mass singing facilitated by the parade motivators and celebrity
emcees.
|
|
The segment will feature a mass
display performance by Boon Lay Secondary School as well as the winning band
of the the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) inter-school competition.
|
|
Audience can look forward to a
special Total Defence Performance where hardware capabilities and operational
skills of the Singapore Armed Forces and the Home Team will be showcased. The
performance commemorates 20 years of Total Defence.

Parade & Ceremony Segment:
|
|
Some of the all-time
audience favourites like the fly-past, 21-gun salute and Presidential
drive-past will be featured in this segment. Apart from the Guard-of-Honour
contingents and Colours Party from the Singapore Armed Forces, contingents
from the Singapore Police Force, Singapore Civil Defence Force and
non-uniformed organisations will join in the parade which will be marked by
precision and style.

This 45-minute segment aims to
engage the body, mind, soul, and heart of the audience. Presented in 3 Acts
which will lead to a climax in the Grand Finale, video presentations,
animation and other multimedia effects will be used throughout to enhance the
colourful and vibrant segment.
