The Prime Minister submitted his and his government’s resignation to President S R Nathan at 10.00am today.

The President has accepted the resignations, which will take effect immediately before the new Prime Minister is appointed on 12 August 2004.

The Prime Minister’s letter and the President’s reply are attached.
