On 21 Jun 2004, we launched Singaworld.com, a Web site containing a directory and forum, among other things. In the three months since, we have not succeeded in making it work.

So, we have pulled out the directory and assimilated it into Getforme - Singapore on the Web under a new section named Singapore Websites.

As for the forum, we have done away with it altogether since we already have a forum section on Getforme - Singapore on the Web.

We initially touted Singaworld as being a place for Singaporeans to come together and blare their hearts out about being Singaporean. The idea has not worked.

The new Singaworld is a dating & friendship Web site. It has a dating database. To support the activities of those visiting the Web site, we have added a friendship forum. We are also giving free email accounts with the user@singaworld.com address.

And, to make the whole thing attractive, we are bundling a free 10MB personal homepage diskpace for all Singaworld members. The only catch is - Singaworld members need to include their photograph in their listing on Singaworld.

We are not restricting membership to Singaporeans so anyone, anywhere, can join so long as they are aged 18 and above. 

Singaworld membership is free. So, why not take up the offer and join Singaworld as a member today?
