Background:

The inspiration for this work comes from the director’s personal experiences
and observations about urban living. Chin notes, “To blend into society, we need to adapt ourselves, so we learn to hide emotions. Basic psychological
needs are not being fulfilled, despite our material wealth. We may share a house with other people, but not our lives. Everyone goes about their daily
tasks separately, communicating little of what really matters to us. People chat on the internet and phone to seek company and love.”
|
|
“There are certain aspects of ourselves that we feel comfortable revealing
only in our own home,” says Sam, his artistic collaborator. Chin adds, “People might feel lonely, but they are not alone.”
