Mobile phone operator M1 starts pay-as-you-use services today. The service allows subscribers to pay for the use of air-time at the end of the month. It is presently available for CDMA customers. Charges are tiered, with the rate declining as volume increases.

Miss Pamela Yiau, 19, a student at Temasek Polytechnic, died on Tuesday morning after drinking some bourbon-coke at a friend's farewell party. Her father said she had no known medical conditions. Police are still investigating the case.

SIA hires experts to srutinise its staff payment procedures.

A 37-year-old woman, found semi-conscious near the Chinese Garden in Jurong on Tuesday, told police she was attacked and robbed by her ex-boyfriend.

An insurance company boss has offered a S$5000 reward to anyone who can help the police solve the murder of Miss Linda Chua, 27, who was attacked while jogging in a Bukit Batok park on 6 Feb 2000. Mr David Hoong, 46, the managing director of Anda Insurance, who made the offer yesterday, said he was very upset about the brutal crime.
