1. Take a stroll down Somerset Road and Orchard Boulevard. These
roads lie on the back of Orchard Road. After
Orchard Boulevard, our tour will move on to Orchard Road, the
shopping heart of Singapore.

On the right side of Somerset Road sits the Phoenix
Hotel.
This shows the front entrance to
Phoenix Hotel. Specialist Shopping Centre occupies the first few
floors of the building.

Farther down the right side of the
road is the entrance to Somerset MRT Station.
Notice also the raised walkway used
by the pedestrians. It leads to Orchard Road. The building at the
end of the walkway is on Orchard Road.

As we move along Somerset Road, we will see the Public
Utilities Board (PUB) building on the left of the road.
This is where you open a
utilities account. Presently, this is the only utilities company
in Singapore.

On the left of Somerset Road, just after the PUB
building is the National Youth Council building.
It has a canteen on the ground
floor.
The famous Goreng Pisang is sold
here.

Inside the side entrance is the famous Lim Kee banana fritter stall.
|
