1. Take a stroll down Orchard
Road,
the shopping heart of
Singapore.

At the junction, turn left into the upper part of Orchard
Road.
This part is not popular and most
shoppers avoid it.
However, shoppers do frequent the
building on the right - Shaw House, where Isetan and the new Lido
cinema are located. |

|
That's the view of the rest of Shaw House at the junction of Orchard
& Scotts Roads. |
|
Or move on straight ahead into Scotts Road. Farther down
this road are the Hyatt Regency, Far East Plaza, Goodwood Hotel
& the American Club. |

|
This is the view of Marriot Hotel at the junction of
Scotts Road and the lower part of Orchard Road.
Tangs department store is located
in this building.

|
Or turn right into the lower part of
Orchard Road. This is the heart of the city where shoppers abound.
Every weekend, this area is
jam-packed with Singaporeans.
Today, we are making this right turn.

On the right of Orchard Road is a long
pedestrian mall.
This part shows a mosaic wall mural.
Farther down, you can just make out
the semi-circular top of Orchard MRT Station and Wisma Atria
shopping centre (blue building).
