Two engineers, Bill
Hong Keng Chee and Joseph Huang Wei Liang, were yesterday given the
maximum fines for defective design and work lapses which had led to a
roof collapse during the construction of Compassvale Primary School in
June last year.
The deputy managing
director of public-listed Eltech Electronics, Lee Tat Meng, 49, has been
charged with insider trading, by dumping his shares when he learnt that
the company was facing worse-than-expected losses.
Singapore's non-oil
domestic exports rose by an unexpectedly strong 18.8% last month to
S$7.8 billion, signalling a return to fast-track expansion after
January's slow growth.
An internet poll in
which 647 persons responded by 6pm yesterday identified Ngee Ann
City Civic Plaza as the leading choice for the Speakers' Corner,
followed by the Padang.
A man who secretly
filmed a woman showering and another using his master bedroom toilet was
