Founded in
1886 by Englishman William Oldham who used cash donations
from his friends to convert a shophouse in Amoy Street
into a school for 13 pupils. Because English was taught in
the morning, and Chinese in the afternoon, the school came
to be known as Anglo Chinese School. |
