The Theatre Practice presents 'Objects Of Desire'

Source: www.practice.org.sg

A movement piece Poor Theatre Series turns FOUR with Objects of Desire Shape + Sound = ¡®Object¡¯
16 - 21 May 2006
Due to the overwhelming response to 2004¡¯s Play Play, Kuo Jing Hong once again presents an original piece - Objects of Desire.
This theatre-making movement piece is presented by The Theatre Practice and performed by the 4th cohort of year 1 students of the Theatre Training & Research Programme (TTRP).
The performers hail from Mexico and Asia, and have diverse backgrounds in theatre and the performing arts. Kuo Jing Hong is Movement Teacher at TTRP.
Objects of Desire will challenge each performer to use their bodies and vocals to depict everyday objects, and explore their hidden depths and desires.
Poor Theatre Series has broken new ground with its introduction of the pay-as-you-want scheme ¨C audiences can now by-pass the hassle of purchasing tickets, and pay whatever amount they wish after the show! (Seats are limited! Book now to avoid disappointment!)
Objects of Desire will make imagination run wild!
Observe how the actors communicate with an audience through movement alone, without the use of any spoken language or elaborate costumes.
Objects of Desire is a light-hearted, original piece, which playfully prompts you to see objects in a new light! Gain a greater appreciation and awareness of your microwave, condom, vacuum cleaner, slipper and umbrella as seven actors depict them.
Objects of Desire will make you wonder about the possible emotional roller coaster that your every day things go through, should they have a living breathing body.
So join us as we bring to live the many objects around us and delve into their inner most thoughts. We guarantee that you will never look at your umbrella the same way again!
