Boat Asia 2006 - Asia¡¯s leading leisure boat
show for yachts, powerboats, super yachts and marine equipment &
accessories - will be held at Sentosa Cove, Singapore from 20-23 April
2006. |
Boat Asia 2006 will see many boats being
exhibited in Singapore (and Southeast Asia) for the very first time. |
Both hardy annual exhibitors and newcomers
to the event will use the opportunity to showcase their latest, hottest
yachts. Suntec Integrated Media, the show organiser, has revealed some
of the display boats confirmed for this year. |
 |
Jongert 40T |
|
Taking pride of place this year will be the
Jongert 40T ¡°Number One¡±, a superyacht in the clipper class. Built in
1999 by the renowned Jongert B.V. boat yard in Holland, this 136.5ft
beauty is the masterpiece of naval architect Tony Castro with interior
design by Peter Sijm. Boat Asia is proud to welcome Jongert to Singapore
this year. |
 |
Riviera 42 |
|
Boat Asia is pleased to welcome back
Riviera, a regular Boat Asia exhibitor. This year, the Australian brand,
always a favourite and a public draw card at Boat Asia, will be
displaying the Riviera 47 flybridge convertible, offering penthouse-like
views and all-round performance in its class. |
With staterooms accommodating between 5 and
7 persons, a spacious saloon and full entertainment package, this boat
is ¡°a real party machine¡±. |
 |
Ferretti 731 |
|
World leader Ferretti Group will be
exhibiting the luxurious Ferretti 731 through their dealer Pen Marine, a
Boat Asia regular. |
Ferretti 731 is the new expression of the
Ferretti style, from the unusual symmetric perspective of the spaces
that dominates both the interior and the flyingbridge layout, to the
ship owner¡¯s cabin that presents the most important innovations of
Ferretti in terms of light and space exploitation. |
Placed lengthwise, it has a large panoramic
window on both sides allowing an open view of the sea from each
viewpoint inside the boat, and a spacious shower, separated from the
bathroom by a sliding door. |
 |
Horizon 53 |
|
Taiwan¡¯s Horizon Yacht Group is currently
undergoing expansion befitting the East Asian country¡¯s largest builder
of luxury yachts. |
This year, Horizon will be exhibiting the
Horizon 53 under their sole SE Asian distributor Kingfisher Marine.
Featuring state-of-the-art SCRIMP vacuum infusion hull construction, a 3
cabin layout and twin Caterpillar C12 700HP engines in a surprisingly
spacious ¡®stand up¡¯ engine compartment, Horizon 53 is the Taiwan brand¡¯s
¡®entry level¡¯ yacht with a 300+ nautical miles cruising range and 26
knots top speed. |
 |
Grand Banks 47 FB |
|
Peninsula Boating, besides being the
South East Asia dealer for Grand Banks and Four Winns, is also the
operator of Singapore's most innovative boat sharing scheme.
Peninsula Boating will display two products at Boat Asia 2006, the
Grand Banks 47 Flybridge and the Four Winns 378 Vista. |
The Grand Banks 47 FB is from the
Eastbay series of planing hull boats. With a cruising speed of 24
knots and a top speed of 32 knots, this vessel can take you over
320 nautical miles at that speed. |
The version on display will be the
3-cabin galley up version, providing maximum sleeping
accommodation for the owner. With a hardtop on the flybridge and a
large bimini covering the aft cockpit, she provides all the
attributes required for fast cruising in the tropics. |
 |
Four Winns 378
Vista |
|
Peninsula Boating will also display a
Four Winns 378 Vista, the flagship of the Four Winns range at a
full 42 feet in length. Built in the USA, Four Winns offer a range
sport boats and express cruisers from 19-42 feet. Perfect
entry-level powerboats, they offer all the comfort and quality
expected from an American manufacturer building 6,000 boats a
year. |
The 378 Vista is a voluminous party
and family boat, available in both petrol and diesel shaft drive
installations. Fully loaded with electronics, TV/DVD,
refrigeration, generator and air-conditioning, she represents
extremely good value for money. |
Simpson Marine, one of the more
established brokers in Singapore, will showcase a variety of
boats, some of which are making their Singapore and Asian debuts. |
 |
Beneteau Flyer
12 |
|
Making an appearance for the first
time in Asia are the Beneteau Flyer 12 and Beneteau Trawler.
Whilst the Flyer provides fun-a-plenty with its IPS propulsion
system and 35 knots speed, the Trawler is a modern version of the
classic trawler hull design giving a compelling combination of old
world traditional charm and the latest in construction technology. |
 |
Sea Ray 290 |
|
New to Singapore, are Sea Ray 290 and
270 Amberjack, a neat blend of sports cruiser and sports fisher!
They will make their local debut alongside the Sea Ray 240 Sundeck
- a spectacular speedboat perfect for those day trips to nearby
islands and able to comfortably seat 10 people. |
As for classic sailing boats, Simpson
Marine will also be showing the Beneteau Oceanis 343 and the
Oceanis 523. Whilst the 343 exemplifies the best in Berret/Racoupeau
Team design and is optimised for speed and performance, the 524
focuses on comfort with its stunning 4-cabin cherry wood interior
and full air conditioning. We can¡¯t wait to see these two beauties
at the show! |
Also fresh to South East Asia is
Cranchi, which will be presenting their Endurance 41 through
distributor Starship Yachts. Cranchi's range amply covers
different needs, from 27 footers to 50 footers, and the brand
recently announced plans to further extend into other categories
such as a new fishing line and a new Hard Top line. |
 |
Chris Craft
Speedster 20 |
|
Singapore dealer Marina Bahari Raya
will be displaying two brands - from Chris Craft, the Chris Craft
Speedster 20 and from Grady White the Grady White Seafarer 228 and
Sailfish 282. |
With the Chris Craft Speedster range
you would be forgiven for thinking you were getting into a sports
car. It is the only 20-foot boat in the industry with a standard
V-6 configuration that gets up on plane in less than 3 seconds and
runs in the mid-50s in open water. MBR will also showcase the
user-friendly Sunstream hydraulic Boatlift. |
Best Dealz International Pte Ltd will
show the Fountaine Pajot Lavezzi 40 catamaran. Fountaine Pajot
from Aigrefeuille in France has extensive experience in voyaging
catamarans, and the Lavezzi 40 shows that heritage. This is a
substantial cruiser with good performance and spacious
accommodation. |
Visitors to Boat Asia 2006 will be
able to make appointments to view the display boats this year
through an innovative ¡°Book a Boat Viewing¡± system on the
Internet. More details are available on the Boat Asia website
