Alteon Training, a wholly owned subsidiary
of The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA) begins operations today (2 Oct 2006) at
its Singapore Training Center. |
Airlines from Australia, Indonesia, Myanmar,
Nepal, Papua New Guinea and Taiwan are among the first to use its
comprehensive training services. |
An official opening for the center will be
held in early 2007. |
"We are pleased to add Singapore to our
global network of training centers," said Patrick Gaines, Alteon
president. "With this latest addition, Alteon now offers seven training
locations in the Asia Pacific region further expanding our ability to
meet the increasing demands for pilot and crew training in the region." |
Gaines also noted his gratitude to the
Government of Singapore in lending assistance and support setting up the
training center. "Alteon is committed to delivering high quality
aviation training programs in Singapore, one of the leading aviation
hubs in the region," Gaines said. |
Located near the Changi International
Airport, the Singapore Training Center has the capability to train more
than 6,000 student pilots and flight attendants per year. |
The three-story state-of-the-art facility
houses seven full flight simulator bays, a cabin emergency evacuation
trainer and will host other advanced-technology training devices such as
flat-panel trainers (FPT). |
Student pilots and flight attendants
use workstations equipped with self-guided computer based
training, allowing them to progress at their own pace. The center
has six classrooms, a training room and a student lounge. |
Alteon offers training services at six other
training centers in the Asia-Pacific region, including Brisbane and
Melbourne, Australia, Seoul, South Korea; Kunming and Tianjin, China,
and Tokyo, Japan. It is the world's preferred aviation training partner
and the industry leader in providing customer-focused aviation training
solutions. |

Boeing Company within Boeing Commercial Airplanes' Commercial Aviation
Services group. The training organization supports the world's aviation
community with more than 70 full flight simulators in over 20 locations
