Ecnad presents Fireball

Ecnad throws its grandest birthday party ever on the red carpet!

FireBall, an explosion of artistic expression dedicated to dance, is set ablaze at the resplendent Arts House between 20 April and 1 May 2005.

A fiery sphere of verve, glamour and spectacle, it is an event Singapore has yet to see the likes of. Dance is the nucleus, drawing together more than 25 artists of various disciplines to pay tribute to this mesmerizing art form that has enthralled men and women since time immemorial.
FireBall is presented by Ecnad in conjunction with its 9th birthday celebrations.
FireBall will be ignited on 20 April with concurrent photographic exhibitions, dance costume and graphic installations displayed in eye-popping styles set to blow viewers’ minds away.
It then gives way to an energetic burst come 29 April with a smorgasbord of dance, live music, jam sessions plus free outdoor activities are offered to audiences over the Labour Day weekend.
Here is a sampling of the programme lineup:

A ball isn’t a ball without dance, of course. New dance pieces scatter the halls of The Arts House, unleashed by both resident and specially invited guest artists of Ecnad. Be entranced by swirling bodies gliding across floors. Feel the force of creative passions in kinetic form. Dances to set alight hearts and illuminate minds.
Like balls in days of old, FireBall harkens to old-fashioned glamour, class and spectacle but with a twist of modern celebrity culture and carnival.
The Arts House provides just the perfect setting. Its historic red carpet welcomes audiences and artists as they bask in the dazzle of flashbulbs. Visitors can discover the glorious historical events and anecdotes that imbue the exquisite building with its awesome aura through entertaining tours.
Participating artists will be fully accessible to audiences - it is a golden opportunity to rub shoulders with creators. Ask questions, share thoughts, for FireBall shall be trailblazer to breaking barriers to encountering and experiencing dance.
FireBall is set to be the hottest contemporary dance event this year. It is high-brow, and low-brow. It is interactive, and voyeuristic. It is a show, and a party. And it is brand new.
No one should miss the ball of the year!
