My Uniquely Singapore
Passport 2005 Back For Second Year |
|
|
For the second year running, the Singapore Tourism
Board (STB) is encouraging Singaporeans to rediscover Singapore’s unique
attractions with “My Uniquely Singapore Passport 2005”. |
The Passport offers holders (Singapore residents
or visitors) discounts at 40 Singapore establishments including tourist
attractions, F&B outlets as well as a family-oriented spa. |
Patronage at any participating establishment
entitles the passport holder to a stamp. Free stamps will be given at events
like Carnival Marina, Heritage Fest 2005 and even at any of the eight
Singapore Visitors Centers. |
This year, participants only need to obtain five
stamps to qualify for the two quarterly draws and the Grand Draw. Participants
stand to win more than S$150,000 worth of prizes including four brand new
Hyundai cars and 36 Aviva Spa packages. |
“My Uniquely Singapore Passport 2005” is part of
the STB’s effort to drive domestic tourism by encouraging Singaporeans to
rediscover the island’s many tourism offerings and become Singapore’s tourism
advocates. |
Starting from April, 1.5 million passports will be
distributed across Singapore over nine months. Of these, 300,000 passports
will be distributed to students at more than 300 schools while students from
28 Tourism Clubs will distribute the passports to the public. Other potential
distribution channels include community centres and clubs, and public
libraries. |
Mr Ken Low, STB’s Acting Assistant Chief
Executive, Brand and Communications, said: "Many Singaporeans and local
residents have yet to discover the many unique "gems" that are right at our
doorstep - from the exquisite Night Safari, the survival stories at the
Chinatown Heritage Centre, the secrets on the Original Singapore Walks, to the
wide open spaces of the kampong farms in Sembawang - there are now 40 more
reasons to rediscover the attractions of Singapore. I strongly believe that
after visiting some of these attractions, residents will have a better sense,
understanding and appreciation of the place we call home, and will truly
become advocates of what this island can offer. Well, vacations and fun-breaks
can surely even take place right here at home!" |
My Uniquely Singapore Passports can be obtained at
the 40
participating establishments, as well as at the Singapore Visitor Centres
from 9 April 2005. Completed passports can be dropped off at 13 collection
boxes at various
locations across Singapore. |
