Ecnad, a premier multidisciplinary dance
company, is organising a four-day Gymnastics for Dancers workshop over two
weekends on 15, 16, 22 & 23 Jan 2005. |
The artistic and sport melded in gymnastics
provides an excellent platform from which to develop a dancer's abilities. |
Ecnad's artistic co-director and former gymnast
Tan How Choon will take participants through the technique and alignment for
the basic gymnastic moves of the handstand and cartwheels, which culminate in
the execution of a walkover. |
This is an opportunity for dancers to become more
aware of their bodies, improve posture and strengthen muscles as well as
expand the range of their performances in a secure environment where safety
support will be taught to prevent injury. |
