Busking, the art of street
performing, is street theatre unlike any other. Come catch the beauty of
street theatre at the 8th Singapore Buskers’ Festival this year as it promises
to be an entertainment bonanza showcasing acts of mayhem, madness, spontaneity
and witty satire. |
Live entertainment at its best, be
prepared to be amazed as the Singapore Buskers’ Festival showcases a nine-day
line-up that has something for everyone: jugglers, face painters, and never
seen before acts performing non-stop, simultaneously at six venues. |
Each year, the Singapore Buskers
Festival stages one of the greatest celebrations of street performance,
attracting audiences from around the world to sample the city's thrilling
atmosphere. |
The festivities offer a unique
opportunity to experience the excitement of live performance by
internationally renowned artists as well as the joy of discovering new and
unfamiliar works. |
 |
This year, Singapore’s wildest
street carnival will be launched alongside the
Christmas Light-up on Orchard
Road. |
Marvel at the vast talent as
passionate dancers, interstellar mimes, multi-talented jugglers, comedians,
magicians, and musicians take to the streets of Orchard Road on 13th November
in a colourful Buskers’ Parade to mark the launch of the festival. There is no
form of theatre or art more diverse, more spontaneous, or more accessible. |
The annual festival, now in its
eighth year, has grown to become the largest street festival of its kind here
in the Asia Pacific. |
Last year, over 50 international
and local performers, across 9 days, enchanted half a million people here in
Singapore as spectators thronged the streets to catch the city’s wildest
carnival celebration. |
No two performances are ever
identical – spontaneity and improvisation take precedence over perfection at
the Buskers’ Festival. Witness the eclectic array of talent as the performers
transform outdoor spaces and busy streets into a spectacular stage for total
mayhem. |
Watch out for exhilarating
performances as charismatic buskers perform at Clarke Quay, Robertson Walk,
Marina Square, Orchard Road, Singapore Changi Airport, MacRitchie & Bedok
Reservoir and Singapore Expo. |
