"TOSCA" to be screened at Alliance Française

Source: Alliance Française

Alliance Française will be screening "TOSCA" - one of Giacomo Puccini's greatest operas magically transposed to film - at its AGF Theatre on Thursday 22 May 2003 at 9 pm.

"Tosca" is a stirring and wonderfully performed production featuring Angela Gheorghiu and Roberto Alagna as the star-crossed lovers. They are joined by the incomparable Ruggero Raimondi who plays the evil Scarpia.

Jacquot reinvents the way we view opera in this magnificent production of Puccini's story of Tosca's love for the painter Cavaradossi and the intervention of Scarpia. “Tosca” is dazzlingly beautiful yet intimate and emotional, modern yet classic at the same time.

The movie is directed by Benoît Jacquot and casts Angela Gheorghiu, Roberto Alagna, Ruggero Raimondi and David Cangelosi.

Tickets are available now at Sistic outlets islandwide. Call their Hotline: (65) 6348 555 or visit their Web site: www.sistic.com.sg. Mobile ticketing: wap.sistic.com.sg.
