The Centre for the Arts (CFA) will be presenting Inspiring Artistes: The Silver-Garburg Piano Duo (Israel) at the University Cultural Centre (UCC) Theatre on 15 October 2003 at 8pm.

In line with the Centre’s mission to enrich the talents of young Singaporeans and inculcate arts appreciation islandwide, engaged couple, Sivan Silver and Gil Garburg will be performing two pieces of music with 11 year olds, Abigail Sin and Angela Lim, two promising young pianists from Methodist Girls’ School and Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School respectively.

Performing music specially written for two pianos, this critically-acclaimed young couple, who are based in Germany, will enthral audiences with their musical camaraderie with the two young girls, who have been dedicatedly practicing for this concert since May 2003.

Besides treating audiences with delectable pieces by Brahms, Mendelssohn and Borodin, the Silver-Garburg Duo will then join Abigail Sin and Angela Lim to perform Bedrich Smetana’s Sonata in E minor and Rondo in C major for two pianos, eight hands in an exciting finale.

Sivan Silver and Gil Garburg will share their experiences and insights about performing as a duo in a masterclass for two pianos, featuring six young pianists from various tertiary institutions.
