Suntec City's Koi Garden beckons you

Click logo to start tour

Mdm Kang's Kitchen Chilli Crab

Suntec City's Koi Garden has been drawing the crowds, not only during the weekends but also during the weekdays. The Koi Garden has become a recreational respite for those who throng Suntec City Mall, for after a bout of shopping, these shoppers would gather with their family at the pond for about half-an-hour's playtime.

Yes! You heard it right. It's playtime for both parents and the kids as both parties unwind by feeding the more than 400 kois swimming in the pool. These kois, also known as fengshui fish, are not an accidental addition to the pool. They are there to gel with the fengshui elements of Suntec City which, incidentally, is also famous for its Fountain of Wealth.

The crescent-shaped pond, which occupies an area of 403 sq m, has been around since the opening of the shopping centre. Initially, it was just a 'reflecting pool'. It was later that the management decided to add the kois as a further boost to the fengshui of the place. It appears the kois not only gel the fengshui but also strengthen family ties.

Entry to the Koi Garden is free. The garden opens from 7am to 10pm daily. There is a kiosk selling aquarium supplies and accessories. In order to prevent public mishandling of the kois, visitors to the pond can also purchase proper fish feed from the kiosk, which opens from 11am to 10pm, for the kois in the pond.

So, whether you are at Suntec City to attend an exhibition, do a spot of shopping or make the customary three rounds around the Fountain of Wealth, do stop by the Koi Garden for some added bliss and silent reflection. It will surely do you a world of good. For a preview before your visit, click HERE!
