Corona Latino Nite with Sandunga

Click logo to start tour

Mdm Kang's Kitchen Chilli Crab

Top Australian Afro-Cuban band Sandunga will spice up the night at Fort Canning Park on 23 Mar 2002 at 8pm.

Sandunga - Cuban slang for tasty or spicy - is one of the first Afro-Cuban bands out of Sydney and arguably one of the city's most popular Latin bands.

Sandunga's range is extensive - rather than just salsa that most bands play, they draws inspiration from the full range of traditional Afro-Cuban music - son, merengue, rumba, cha cha, mambo, bolero and son montuno.

Come Saturday, Sandunga will be playing their groovy, irresistible music on the inviting greens at Fort Canning Park. A crowd of 2,000 is expected to come to this 'hot' event. With stalls serving Latin American food and drink, you're guaranteed to feel just like 'our man in Havana'!

All this is brought to you by Schema International Pte Ltd - a Singapore-based arts and entertainment company, whose past productions have included the Viva Brazil '99 and Samba Singapore 2000 festivals, concerts by slide guitarist Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and jazz bassist Niels-Henning Orsted Pederson as well as the regular Corona Latino Nites which in 2001 showcased bands such as Samba Tuque Brasil, Chanchullo and the We Remember Bob Marley Tour.

Tickets: $21 ($17 for early birds only) are available at all SISTIC outlets. Call SISTIC Hotline at (65) 6348 5555 or click HERE!
