Mdm Kang's Kitchen Chilli Crab

  Hi everyone

I am glad to learn that more Singaporeans in search of information are finding their way to this website. Our statistics tells us that local residents have overtaken foreign visitors as the main visitors to our website.

This is indeed a great change from two years ago, when local visitors were a mere minority on this website.

That means we are going in the right direction. It may take some time before we can safely say we have succeeded in attracting Singaporeans to our website. Till then, we just have to work harder.

A successful website is not born. It takes concerted effort on the part of the people running it. It also takes courage in the face of disappointment - ala the dot-com crash, little or no income from the website - to carry on as usual in providing the stuff that keeps visitors returning to our website.

We welcome research students from schools and universities, here and abroad, who make use of our website to collect information that they need. To these people, we also wish to apologise for not being able to provide in-depth information on certain topics they are reseaching.

Those who have e-mailed us, and gotten a reply with the required information attached, may not know that for every e-mail request for help which we have answered, there are many that go unanswered.  There are only two persons running the show here, and between updating the information in the more than 180 sections maintained here and sourcing new articles of interest to our visitors, we hardly have time left over to attend to every e-mail request for help.

Therefore, I wish to say again - SORRY - to those who have asked in vain for our help. When we start earning enough to support our website, we will be in a position to put aside some time to get answers to your questions. Till then, we ask that you bear with us, and forgive our lack of manners in the way we refuse to reply to your e-mails.

Those of you researching the news articles mentioned here should note that if you need more detailed reporting on these articles, you should look for the caption, eg. 1 or H2 at the end of the news report and note the date of the report, eg. Straits Times 15 Mar 2002 (1) With this information, you can retrieve the entire article from microfilm records of The Straits Times at the National Library (NLB) in Stamford Road. For a small fee, the NLB will allow you to make a photocopy of the article.

If you still want to write to us, please know that you may need to wait quite a while before we get back to you.

To assist you in tracing news articles reported in The Straits Times newspaper, we have provided the section and page numbers at the end of each news article. Therefore, (12): main section page 12; (S4): sports section page 4; (A10): asia section page 10; (L3): life section page 3.
