NetValue: Broadband gaining popularity in Singapore

 - Broadband Users Surges by 35%

 - Broadband Dominated by Protocols Usage

 - Broadband Enthusiasts

The number of broadband (home) users in Singapore has grown by 35% compared to six months ago, according to Internet research firm, NetValue.

The number of  active broadband users has grown from 135,000 in October of last year to about 172,000 in March of 2002.  NetValue defines an active broadband user as one that logs on to the connection at least once in the reference month.  Accordingly, slightly more than 71,000 households on the island are broadband enabled.

“It is not surprising that Singaporeans are hopping on to the broadband wagon considering that the extended bandwidth enables faster downloading, better audio and visual effects, and greater multi-player capabilities,” says Alan Choo, NetValue’s Director of Sales.   “The broadband adoption has been hastened with the more competitive pricing packages introduced by the broadband providers especially in the recent months.”

NEW WEBSITES  is an online travel service launched on 30 May 2002. Travellers who use it can slice an average of 20 per cent, and up to 30 per cent, off regular air ticket and hotel prices. But customers cannot pick a specific airline or hotel as this will be selected by Priceline from its pool of partners - 25 airlines and more than 8,000 hotels around the world., has brief details of men and women on the market for a spouse. There is no limit to how many people they can choose, but the other party must consent before they meet. The web site is run by the Social Development Unit's Choice Match dating service.
