Mexicano Festival 2002 - A true taste of Mexico

Celebrate Mexico's 192nd anniversary of Independence at Festival Mexicano 2002 happening at CHIJMES on September 13, 14, 15, & 21, 2002.

The festival is an annual event organised by the Embassy of Mexico. It aims to introduce Mexican culture to locals and residents and also provides an opportunity for the Mexican expatriate communities to celebrate Mexico's Independence Day.

Soak in the colourful vibrancy of a traditional Mariachi Band’s costumes, dance, and harmonious sounds, while you shop from an eclectic selection of handcrafts at the Mexican Bazaar.

At CHIJMES, you can expect cultural music and dance events by artistes from Mexico. They feature, ACHAI, a Mariachi music group comprising of twenty-five musicians and dancers.  The Mexican Bazaar will have an exhibition, as well as sale and promotion of Mexican handcrafts, costumes and food indigenous to Mexico. This is a cultural feast not to be missed. 

Admission is free and all are welcome.
