Encore! Abigail SIN - Singapore's youngest concert pianist

Ten year old Abigail Sin is a child prodigy who is well on her way to becoming a world-renowned concert pianist. Internationally renowned musicians have praised her “natural musicality” and refined her rare talent.

Abigail’s special gift which has been brought to an astounding level, has to be heard to be believed. She will be giving her second full length solo recital at the Victoria Concert Hall on 19 November 2002 at 8 pm. Guest of Honour for the evening is Mr. LIU THAI KER, Chairman of the National Arts Council.  The proceeds from ticket sales will go towards TOUCH Children Services, part of TOUCH Community Services.

Singapore’s youngest concert pianist, Abigail gave her debut concert last year, and received excellent reviews and high accolades. Dr. Chang Tou Liang, board member of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and music reviewer for the Straits Times, called her “one of Singapore’s brightest musical prodigies who plays with a rare verve.”

Abigail’s musical journey started when she was only four years old.  By the time she was nine, she passed with a near perfect score her grade 8 practical piano exams.  She went on to the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and was performing together with Singapore’s most brilliant young talents of Singapore.

This year’s concert, entitled "Virtuosity - Abigail In Concert", will please musical novices and connoisseurs alike, as it showcases a high display of piano virtuosity, integrating deep elements of musical poetry and subtleties. The programme is as follows:

Arabeske  Op. 18     Schumann

Sonata in D major KV 311     Mozart

Allegro con spirito

Andante con espressione

Liebestraume III     Liszt

Liebesleid     Kreisler/Rachmaninoff
