Traffic and Security Advisory for Nomination Centres

Nomination Day will be held on 27 April 06. As nomination will commence from 11.00am , supporters and members of the public are advised to arrive at the Nomination Centres only after 10.00am , when the Nomination Centres are opened to the public.

Supporters and members of public are advised to take public transport to the Nomination Centres as only vehicles with authorised parking labels will be allowed entry into the Nomination Centres.

Police will be providing security in and around the Nomination Centres. Bags and other belongings brought into the Nomination Centres will be subjected to checks. As such, supporters and members of public are advised not to bring along bags to avoid any inconvenience which may be caused as a result of the checks.

No placards or banners shall be displayed in the Nomination Centres unless it has been announced that the candidate has been returned uncontested.

Police officers will be on duty to monitor the law and order situation closely, and will not hesitate to take actions against any person who commits any offence at the Nomination Centre or whose behaviour may lead to public order problems.

Police also seek cooperation from the supporters and members of public to leave in an orderly manner at the conclusion of the Nomination Day proceedings.
