Exploring Singapore

Enjoy the picturesque beauty of the Singapore River.

View of Singapore River.

Stroll down the pavement along this side of the river.

This is another view of the river towards its mouth.

The brown building is Standard Chartered Bank, on its right is Shell Tower, and then the U shaped United Overseas Bank building.

Stroll down further and this is what you will see.

The building on the extreme left is the new Bank of China building.

Turn around and this is what you will see.

That's Elgin Bridge.

Now, turn back and walk along the pavement.

This is where you are at now.

A closer look at the statue of

Sir Stamford Raffles

the founder of Singapore.

Marked Historic Site

This statue marks the site of Raffles' landing on 29 Jan 1819. It's also the second statue of Raffles. The first is just around the corner.

Turn around and you are looking at Parliament Lane.

It leads to St Andrew's Road. That's Parliament House on the left.
